Lobster Fest...and Missing Summer Sunsets

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and Angie

We took the kids to the Lobster Fest in San Pedro by the beach. We loved the lobster, the fresh homemade lemonade and the yummy corn-on-the-cob. But what I loved best, was to see my kids laugh and smile as they rode the rides against the sunset. We can feel fall and miss the warm summer sunsets.

We visited the Santa Ynez Mission and enjoyed this beautiful and serene time. Its corridors were inviting, and the warm and colorful landscape surrounding the Mission was beautiful. Old Mission Santa Ines was founded in 1804, and boasts a museum that tells of the history of the Mission and region.

Solvang Danish Village

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and Sports Mama

Took the kiddies to Solvang (a Danish Village, just 20 minutes north of Santa Barbara). Had lots of fun...too many yummy sweets though. The bakeries are abundant, and delicious. The boys, and we, had a blast. Thanks to Grandma for gifting us the weekend stay - we are so lucky. We enjoyed walking the streets of Solvang, at times we felt we were riding the bike thru the streets of Europe. A must visit place Solvang!

We took the kids to Chinatown and enjoyed a great lunch. Afterwards, we took them to the Thien Hau Temple (a Taoist Temple in Chinatown Los Angeles) to explore. Thien Hau Temple is dedicated to Mazu, the Taoist goddess of the sea and patron saint to sailors, fishermen, and to those whose cultures are associated with the sea They had many questions and much to see. It was a great afternoon exploring different cultures.

An Exotic Zoo in our very own backyard...

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

We took the Kids to America's Teaching Zoo, an Exotic Animal Training Zoo, in Moorpark, California, just a few minutes away from home. Had lots of fun...I was a bit apprehensive to be so close to the Lioness. Nevertheless, it was a great way for the kids to see how animals are trained (and fed) up front. They particularly liked the different kinds of birds.

Well...well...well

PhotoStory Friday

We're finally walking. Peanut is wobbling around. And he's happy about it. He recuperated well and we had to learn how to walk all over again, but he is just as happy as I am to be independent once more. Not to mention the big smiles he gives us. It seems like so long ago that the body cast is a merely a memory. Now its off to running around some more!
